Comedy Brawl

Hello I’m Spencer Osburn, I’m part of the Academy of Comedy and we’re here at Comedy Brawl!

Spencer is just one of the many performers who brought laughter and fun to the eager crowd at the Comedy Brawl.

This is his second semester doing the Academy of Comedy, and for Spencer“ It’s just fun to get out there and be somebody else for a little bit, you know.  It’s fun to get in there and really make people laugh. It’s satisfying you know?   We make each other laugh on stage, it’s all fun”.

Comedy skits included the Cats of Comedy, an Improv show with the Academy of Comedy, and the Humor Code with Saturday Night Live type skits. It was a blast, students were able to laugh out loud after a long week and they really enjoyed it.

I’m surprised the Brazilian government isn’t more freaked that half of Utah and Idaho are undercover in their country right now. I’d be really suspicious of a revolt.

My biggest fear about using Tinder is getting matched with someone who uses Tinder.

‘Hi I’m Maddy, would you like to get out of here?’ ‘Yes, yes please!’ ‘I am never using Tinder to find a date ever again’

The audience was always playing an active role, and for the performers, they each have a favorite part.

For Skyler Wixom,  “I love the creativity, that’s my favorite part in being a part of it.  And everyone contributes, it’s not just one person giving their ideas.  It’s all these unique ideas being put into one really awesome thing. Different sketches have different personalities, and each actor and actress does unique things. And the dynamic where we come together is really fun”

“We can teach you to be funny, just stick with it”.
