The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recognizes the passing away of Frances J. Monson, wife of Thomas S. Monson, the president of the Church.
According to www.mormonnewsroom.org, the official website for church news, Frances Monson passed away at 6:35 a.m. this morning in Salt Lake City.
Leading to her passing, Frances Monson had been hospitalized and passed away due to age.
“Recognized by her husband as the family’s beacon of love, compassion and encouragement, Sister Monson lived a Christ-centered life in word and deed. She will forever be remembered for her kindness and quiet, sustained sport of her husband in his Church duties,” according to the website.
Frances Monson is known for her charity work and service throughout the Church.
Her husband, Thomas S. Monson, and their three children, Thomas Lee, Ann Frances and Clark Spencer, survive her.
