On Saturday Dec. 4, Hemming Village had a Christmas event for citizens of Rexburg to come and ring in the Christmas season.
The event took place from 1-6 p.m. and included vendors, hayrides around the block and visits from special guests. Santa, elves, the Grinch, The Who’s, Elsa, Anna and Olaf all appeared throughout the day to entertain children and families.
Michael Osborn, the DJ and one of the organizers said this event has occurred at Hemming Village for the last six years aside from last year due to COVID-19.
The biggest event of the evening is the live nativity. Osborn said that this is what the day builds up to.
“It’s just a good community event to bring people together and just remember the real meaning of Christmas,” Osborn said.
The live nativity included live animals. Jeral Williams, an Idaho Falls resident, owns camels and has for the last 13 years. He and his camels attend a lot of different Christmas events during this time of year.
Christmas celebrations in Rexburg are no where near over. With the rest of the month of December ahead, BYU-Idaho students and citizens of Rexburg have a lot of Christmas cheer to look forward to.
