As the snow melts from the parks of Rexburg, they are filling up with students basking in the sun. Maybe you’ve noticed the hammocks popping up in Porter Park or the soccer games taking place at the BYU-Idaho Stadium.

The University Store has a variety of new items on sale for 25 percent off from March 18 to 23 to help students enjoy the new warm weather.

Brand new swimsuits from Downeast Basics with stripes, polka dots and ruffles in sunny colors hang on the racks, Spikeball (an outdoor game) invites you to “take your summer to the next level,” and blankets are stacked in neon colors and intricate patterns ready to be spread out on a nice patch of grass.

Aubrie Bear, a junior studying event planning and catering, is a cashier at The University Store.

“We have swimsuits that just came in, which is always a favorite,” Bear said.

Bear also said the most affordable spring accessory students can get at the sale is a really fun blanket. “You can take them to the park, lay them out in the sun and have picnics,” Bear said.

Paola Benavides, a senior studying art, said business changes in spring. “We start getting more flowery prints. The seasonal depression ends.” She looks forward to spring because she likes to hammock and spend time outside.

The Spring Fling Sale ends on March 23, but the University Store has two additional sales in the future. April 1 to 5 is the General Conference Sale and April 8 to 13 is the Graduation Sale.
